Exploring Fresnel diffraction at a straight edge with a neural network

Abstract We describe a research project carried out with group of undergraduate physics students and aimed at exploring the use neural network to study classical problem in wave optics whose analytical solution is well known: diffraction light by straight edge an opaque semi-infinite screen. Through this exposure machine learning, were able appreciate basic steps involved machine-learning process.
